Course Content - Japanese N5 level

JLPT N5 course is the basic course for beginners. We start with Japanese alphabets (Hiragana and Katakana), around 120 Kanji (Pictorial Characters) in this course. The student has to master the basic elements of grammar and 800 words, has the ability to take part in basic communication in Japanese and to listen, read, write and speak simple short sentences in Japanese.The aim of the course is to help the students have the entry level command over reading and writing in the Japanese language using the Japanese script Hiragana, Kanji and Katakana.

• Speaking: Be able to answer questions about oneself. Be able to hold conversations in limited everyday situations.  
• Writing: Be able to properly write Hiragana and Katakana. Be able to understand approximately 150 Kanji characters.      
• Listening: Be able to understand daily life situations when spoken to at a slower speed and using simple words.   
• Reading: Be able to comprehend written articles of around 250 characters regarding daily life themes.   
• Composition: Be able to write a simple composition using basic expressions.
